At the end of the day, this is the bedrock appeal of the Republican economic message: you built that, you did it, you made it, it's yours, it belongs to you, you deserve it, and look how damn fine it is. It took humans to the moon! You helped build that!

in much the same way as anti-racism contends against the psychological wages of whiteness, I think socialism---at least socialism that seeks to achieve power through nonviolent political means---should more consciously contend with the psychological wages of capitalism.
