but for most of us that won't happen in this life. Some believe it is more or less attainable even in this life tho.
But also when we're trying to *solve* it, it's better to think of it as a disease to be managed than the stain we can never wash out.

And I do get that a lot of people complain about black writers, particularly Ta-nehisi, treating it like the stain that can never wash out.

I think Coates is kind of right on a societal level: threads of racism run deeply through so much of our culture, but trying to minimize it is a worthy and possible endeavor that can really help a lot of people live better, fuller lives.
