I'm still a progressive at heart: even if all governments are bad, some governments are better, and better is better.
But I dunno I'm trying to get a lot of reading done in the next year or so; maybe my belief will have changed by the time I'm done.

Respect there can be other POVs, but I'm pretty confident that politicians (the powerful) of both parties believe they are buying votes.
