maybe. You call it a bribery, I call it a concession to the people wrung, after long struggle, from the powerful.
I'm still a progressive at heart: even if all governments are bad, some governments are better, and better is better.

Respect there can be other POVs, but I'm pretty confident that politicians (the powerful) of both parties believe they are buying votes.
