so when Pelosi and Schumer win something that helps people, we celebrate! it's a good thing, BUT if the small victory is all they ASK for--

THEN leftists see them (as standard-bearers for all left-of-fascist politics) as letting down their constituents, for lack of moral courage

and i would lump this in with the strain of thought that says, "who cares if so-and-so's platform is progressive if they don't PUSH for it?"

i think the ACA would have been a good compromise *if* Obama hadn't won a total mandate *and* most ppl in America didnt hate insurance co's

but just bc ACA saved lives (incl mine!) it doesnt mean ppl dont die every day under our current system, which is "establishment Dems" fault

I think that position misunderstands the context of the 60s-80s where GOP won 5 out of 6 elections + Bill Clinton's rise to power.
