Centrist sentiment and culture. What is considered leftist in the US is centre-right in most other developed economies.
Eh. The dominant culture of universities is not of the economic left (though it may soon be of the social justice left).

Although to be fair, the socialists are usually better at anti-imperialism, which is hard not to call a "social justice" idea.
