We never ask, "why might POC/women/queer folks gravitate towards this language?" (2/x)

And we never ask, "What is the social good of people speaking about their oppression in a way that reflects their experience?" (3/x)

Why don't we care about the fact that people WANT to use this language, because it fits their experiences? (4/x)

I think "all white people are racist" means "all white people have done things that perpetuate racial oppression." (5/x)

And yeah. I can maaaaaaybe think of 1 white person I know who rarely if ever does things that perpetuate racial oppression (6/x)

So if my experience has been 99% of white people do things that perpetuate racial oppression, in big ways or small, I should shut up (7/x)

about that for fear of how more virulent racists might respond? I guess it's OK to make that argument but I wish ppl understood (8/x)
