Well, I think that's right, but the question is, if humans are naturally corrupted by power, what do we do about it?

Do we say "You've been corrupted by power. Even though any human would also be corrupted, you're a demon and should be ashamed!"?

I basically think our society massively over-relies on individual shaming as opposed to systemic change.

1) yes, I strongly agree that the solution is systemic change.

But 2) I think we totally misunderstand this language if we see it solely as a "shaming" tactic for changing white ppl's behavior.

I think if the goal is to point out that people benefit from unfair systems, calling them "demons" is guaranteed to be misunderstood.

This deserves a much much longer response, but I basically feel that the term "racist" has been allowed to mean too many different things.

There should be different words for "one who probably benefits from unfair systems" and "one who wants to preserve unfair systems."
