I don't say that to say that I prefer antifa to liberalism (or certainly that I prefer the neo-fascist right to liberalism)...

I say that because it is the mismanagement of the liberalism that has run America for most of the past two centuries...

that allows for alternatives to liberalism to arise, from both the left and the right. If liberalism adequately dealt with difference...

if we hadn't been so tardy in addressing our crisis of racism, if we hadn't swept oppressed people and their concerns under the rug so often

if we'd correctly managed the economy so that GDP growth linked to wage growth... if liberalism had done its job & provided a fair voice...

for all sectors of society, we would not be in this mess today. Now, am I blaming liberals for fascists? Absolutely not!

but I am peeved at these Atlantic writers who want to defend liberalism by bashing antifa. Dude, do your freaking job!
