by which I mean: class distinctions among black folks are relatively novel relative to the history of poor white ppl in America.

so in my experience, poor and middle class/rich black folks have a little better time relating to one another. But could just be me.

I honestly wouldn't want to venture a guess about class conflict in black communities since I have no experience.

However, having grown up in Mississippi, and have read my history, I can definitely tell you, class superiority is HUUUUGE with white folks.

A huge reason why racism is so bad in economically depressed white communities is the upper classes exploit it.

It's been going on so long now in places like Mississippi and Alabama, that it really is baked into the culture of those places.

So to a lot of whites, black poverty is a result of racial inferiority, white poverty is a failure of character.

In summary, poverty and racism are sort of a cultural yin/yang in America. They need and feed off each other. You cant solve either alone.
