No, an organic chemist must meet a specific set of metrics to be hired. We're talking about jobs. The job determines the metric.
You ever worked in academia? If everybody who met the "objective" metrics had a job, we'd have a MASSIVE surplus of chemists, lol.

Let alone a desireable one. And even then, there are people who could do the work, who don't have the objective metric (science degree).

My point is, objective metrics are never flush with reality. They never fit perfect. And that subjectivity creates a LOT of room for bias.
