Part of the issue with Bernie-ism (and tbh socialism as a whole) is that for POC it's a stopgap, not a solution.

I don't want a Democratic party whose solution to racism is "just give them some money and a job, they'll calm down."

and I guess that's less true of socialism as a whole, which more or less posits an end to scarcity. But it is true of much of Bernieism.
