Not that there weren't always wealthier blk folks... but institutions existed to enforce the racial caste system on us regardless of $$.

That is still true to this day, but not necessarily to the same extent, or, more accurately, not as successfully bc we have more power now.

Any accurate class analysis in the US MUST understand that for most of US history, blackness put you in a separate class below poor whites.

That was the ENTIRE purpose of Jim Crow---to ensure that blackness remained an independent class marker after the end of slavery.

So when you work to alter class relations, you must also work to destroy the remnants of what I might call 'the nigger class.'
