Well first, depending on geography/region, Dems will do better electorally by focusing on base turnout (in messaging and organizing).
But second, the compromise that I suggest in these conversations is "Safe, legal, rare, and respected."

Many pro-life Dems were on board during the "safe legal and rare" days of Clinton, but can't get with the "shout your abortion" folks.
