The push for pure socialism is a pipe dream. It's a way for lazy radicals to avoid having to do any real work toward achievable goals.
I think, like democracy at vast geographic scales, technological progress could make democratic socialism possible where it once wasn't.

A robust public safety net can coexist with (heavily regulated) markets. Putting all the eggs in either basket is what destroys countries.

Think of it as a checks-and-balances system. If you give too much power to either government or industry, it's far too easily abused.

There is no such thing. You can't just make stuff up. Democratic Capitalism, ok. Socialism is, BY ITS NATURE, not democratic.

um. Yes there is? There are many democratic socialist parties. Democratic socialism = gov't owns everything, but ppl vote on all decisions.
