Folk love to get mad at this policing, but ignore WHY people are doing this policing.
If you attend to the argument it is clear. Spaces are unwelcoming to oppressed due to the cultural assumptions of those spaces.
This 'policing' is an attempt to change the cultural assumptions of spaces to make them more welcoming to oppressed people.
And sure, you can say, this is a bad tactic for that goal. But when you keep saying "this is an evil tactic" and ignore the why...
You really profoundly misrepresent the nature of that tactic.
