Especially to a less-hawkish Dem than HRC. But there IS an advantage to causing chaos.
If a Dem lost in questionable circumstances in 2018/2020, they would eventually roll over and follow the rule of law.

I personally don't think Putin would attempt larger scale hacking in 2018 and def not 2020 (too high a risk of Dem coming out on top).
