"Future-proofing the middle class" is a phrase that makes sense to me, but "future proof" is front-row terminology.
"Lifting people into the middle class" makes sense to a lot of people, but not traditional GOP base.

I personally would prefer "achieve a genuinely multicultural society" as a National Project, but are white dudes into that?
