EPs yes, writers yes, but buck stops with the showrunners (who usually rewrite scripts even from writers with EP credits).

Where was this attitude towards "dear white people"? Unimportant bc roles are reversed?

The real answer is to contextualize your ethics with the awareness of power dynamics but I feel like that's too deep for you, lol.

So the simple answer is: black people who have financial success often have had white teachers, professors, colleagues, friends, bosses...

they've spent a lot of time in places where white culture is dominant, where white culture is "normal." So they understand white people.

By contrast, most white people have not spent time in majority-black spaces where black culture is "normal"

and they certainly haven't had to depend on their ability to do well in those spaces in order to, you know, make a paycheck.
