I think that will be more than enough to keep the movement strong for the inevitable showdown that will be 2020.
Anyway, some good points in this article but I think overall it underestimates the difference between state and nat'l politics.

much easier to sustain enthusiasm. Also Walker is probably a better politician than Trump, in terms of recapturing support.

In Walker's position, Trump would have acted MAD erratic and then overreached to stay in power, which would be likely to backfire.
