Note that a very similar, if not better, pace of information being shared was accomplished in 2002 and later years with SARS and H5N1 via peer-reviewed journals. Memories are short, apparently.

Have seen a lot of disinformation out there (scary to think why this is happening) with preprints and other rapid/open communication are playing a big role combatting it imo
