no, this is where people start letting companies know that OSS is not free and that you must pay for software, support, services, etc.

Those foundations generally don't pay the maintainers though. My bank doesn't care about OSS when the mortgage is due

Yep - my limits are mostly time, contention, priorities, and motivation…but for many it’s effectively taking a pay cut to contribute.

Instead of relying on foundations and donations, imagine if people paid for software they'd use. Then those that need it pay. Just imagine.

Without question, folks paying for software helps everyone. The OSS model most projects use turns maintainers into beggars
