Plenty of people following the NASA ER-2 and P-3B as they conduct measurements for the Investigation of Microphysics and Precipitation for Atlantic Coast-Threatening Snowstorms (IMPACTS) program. flightradar24.com/multiview/2f02 Currently our #2 and #4 most tracked flights.

Probably the best image I'll get right now until I invest a ton of time that I don't have into learning how to better stack & process...so enjoy! It will likely be cloudy all week, so this may be all the data that I get! But with no telescope and little time, I'll take it!

Even though we didnt get electric fields just before the lightning event with , radar indicators were present aloft at the potential for #lightning. Depolarization streaks in ZDR and enhanced reflectivity were collocated with this flash in #nywx yesterday.

Sounding from Oswego 7 pm tonight about 60 km south of plenty of lightning (thundersnow) near Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Our LMA detected many of the flashes from this elevated convection likely hitting wind turbines in area. @NWSBUFFALO

Long day, some good, some meh, some parts ridiculous. At the end of the day, something to wind down with in the living room by myself. Go ! Even if it's a friendly. Fun to see a glimpse of the future playing tonight

Special launch tonight! GLM has captured a prolific amount of lightning in Canada which was picked up on the LMAs we have in NY. This is from a synoptic scale system. Nice thundersnow case to compare to lake-effect!
