Yes, I know most of these are wrappers for web apps. But that's been possible for many years, and I wasn't using most apps that way.

How do they compare to apps in the browser? I just bought a kindle book last night and it would not let me read in the browser. I had to download an osx app to read it.

Zoom is great, significantly more reliable than calls in the browser (including Slack's). For the rest I just think it's convenient. I *always* want quick access to Slack and Notion, and desktop apps are easier to switch to.

Web apps are moving to desktop for performance reasons. We’ll see more and more of this trend. It’s the new connected desktop.
