    Optimism is underrated. If you're going into a job, a book, a meeting, a relationship, a chore, a trip, or any experience really, the best parts aren't always obvious. They might require some digging. And optimistic people are diggers.

    Networking = aimlessly talking to random people. If you have an actual purpose or goal, then it ceases to be "networking" and instead becomes selling, pitching, hiring, making intros, mentoring, raising money, partnering, etc.

    To the extent that stories are persuasive and syllogisms aren't, we should absolutely master storytelling. But to the extent that we care about discovering and understanding truth ourselves, we should seek to be persuadable via syllogism.
