Yes, the ring and the wedge definitely spark something in the recesses of my brain, but I can't place it. Perhaps it's a logo from my childhood in Montréal, based on a stylized "Q" for Québec.

Yes, good point! Most of the time with the Droste effect you're trying to create a single spiral, but there's nothing stopping you from making more, and they include some examples.
