You need want this in your Cargo.toml: [profile.release.build-override] opt-level = 0 (or any variant of this that fits your crate)

They "forgot" mentioning it in the release post. Here's the documentation: https://doc.rust-lang.org/nightly/cargo/reference/profiles.html#overrides … You basically want this: [profile.release.build-override] opt-level = 0 or some variation of it
