Is the concern that they will keep Stallman in the project?
He used the p word a few times in his "blog" (political notes). Using this word is really giving the stick to be beaten with. When he talks about "voluntary p..." I guess he just means "consensual sex between teenagers". I'm really not convinced he was doing the apology of crime.

But yes it's cringy and unconscionable.

I wonder why other much more prominent tech czars like Bill Gates are not targeted by the cancel crowd. He actually met Epstein, flew in his plane and employed an actual pedophile in his home...https://web.archive.org/web/20190822181208/https://www.seattlepi.com/local/article/Police-Bill-Gates-estate-staff-member-traded-5988138.php …

Given the fact that half of the cancel crowd is working for Microsoft / Azure and the other half is opposed to free software and planning to replace it with open source governance under permissive licenses, it's not really a suprise.

The initiator of the cancel campaign,
@sarahmei, is working for a company that is actually being prosecuted by 50 victims for sex trafficking. It's a shame that she decided to turn a blind eye to these actual horrendous crimes that happened right in front of her in her office. -
But I guess targetting your own $13 billion company (that made millions fom human trafficking thanks to Backpage), would require a higer degree of commitment to women's rights than attacking a tiny non profit and a guy who wrote offensive emails...https://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2019/03/27/salesforce-sued-sex-trafficking/ …

Oh, he was offensive in person, too. But you're right, the SalesForce/Backpage stuff looks bad. I'm glad they're being sued over it. I also suspect that if Sarah were objecting to SalesForce we wouldn't hear about it unless/until the inside version were clearly not working.

He had a list of crimes there, not just the two I mention. And even in context, quotes like "for incest, contraception could be mandatory to avoid the risk of inbreeding" isn't (IMHO) particularly unclear. And that's only one of several posts by him.
