I’ve literally spent hours on this question in my own personal life in the last *week* and had conversations with multiple different people about how our relative positions in tech do or do not create danger for each other when considering romantic relationships.

There are people who won’t date me, and people who I won’t date, because of those relative positions and the structural power dynamics they create. And NONE of us are REMOTELY at the level of structural power that RMS is at.

It astounds me that people of such incredibly shallow thought, of such moral ineptitude and ethical failure, are so common among the idols and paragons of our industry, when there are so many people doing it right in our quiet corners because we care about each other.
