Patreon is doing a 180 on Anime because companies will do the safest thing in regards to PR.
People obsessed with calling out minor-looking characters and big age-gap shipping as problematic are partly to blame for this.

As a teenager I wished that my childhood shows and movies got a sequel.
Now I feel like there's no time to have nostalgia. Popular IPs must be milked until the quality is in shambles and the demographic focus is more diluted than potato chip hot sauce in a Mexican public school.
