Am I missing something? Why are people so upset about YouTube obscuring live sub counts? How often are people watching them outside of the odd special occasion?

I guess ideally creators could share their live sub count around those milestones. I’m just not sure it’s a bad thing that the number is rounded otherwise.

true! but I think many fans and creators like the idea of real time subscribers because they can experience exactly when they hit a big milestone
