How bad can things get? Typical lifespan at birth varied quite a bit in medieval England, but generally hovered around 30, falling to an all-time low of 17 during the plague years. This though, was actually HIGHER than ancient Roman life expectancy during a normal yearpic.twitter.com/AEwJm5fkAl

Later life is interesting: Romans who made it to 50 actually have a slightly higher life expectancy than Medieval English. Perhaps lots of young Romans died in battle?
