Of all the old anthropological concepts that were abandoned after 1945 the most unjustly condemned was the idea of the "Alpine" race. The basis of the grouping was the fact that in Europe, baldness and brachycephaly invariably occur together, in French, Slavs, and N. Italians.

What do you mean by 'unbroken'? What mental or physical faculty have been damage or diminished? I had the impression that Alpines lost some features that the people of the periphery have while gained some new ones, like 'fearlessness' as you put it.

In my experience they do not cross on a red man in Germany and Austria. They do cross on a red man in Switzerland, Scandinavia and Britain. Non-Germanic ethnic groups do cross on a red man.
