Of all the old anthropological concepts that were abandoned after 1945 the most unjustly condemned was the idea of the "Alpine" race. The basis of the grouping was the fact that in Europe, baldness and brachycephaly invariably occur together, in French, Slavs, and N. Italians.

Other than the fact that North Europeans are lighter than Southerners, this is the most important and obvious anatomical dimension which divides the continent, and yet the concept is so forbidden that the most educated people are oblivious to it.

And what's even worse is that the distinction is so much more than physical: maybe not in intelligence, but in political attitudes the fundamental European divide is between hard, communitarian, feudalized Alpines and the unbroken, libertarian peoples of the periphery.

I always heard Germany was full of Alpines during the NatSoc era. a Prussian war forced the Nords into the Northwestern parts of the country. I'm not very good at understanding all the definitions of this

It was the dumbest classification, obtuse and meaningless. Thank goodness it was discarded by any serious anthropologist and geneticists.
