Finland was overwhelmingly Saami until about 1000 A.D. ; the unusually high value of mtdna V and low value of H in Finns indicate that that they had a genetic impact of maybe 10-20%.

Finns are basically a tripartite people: ~50 percent Baltic, a contribution from a Swedish like Nordic Bronze Age population which gave them their I1-D and smaller one from the Saami.
