In a way, this superior kind of abstract thinking is very impressive: it helps to explain how those cute little goofballs run circles around gullible Boomers on Twitter. It if came at no cost it would be fine, but there's something not quite right with them.....

I don't have this. For a few things, sure, but not for most objects, and a lot of the things that do remind me of other things remind me of real life objects or situations.

Millennials consume vastly more content than previous generations. Cable TV boomed in the late 70s; CNN launched in 1980; video rentals boomed in the early 80s. TV crime causes fear of crime, so parents keep kids indoors more, watching more TV. It’s a vicious circle.
