Do you think Germans in America Anglicised their names during the two European wars?
Since 2000 census results have been used to paint America as a more German place than it actually is. I dont know when it happenmd but a handful in my tree were anglicised: Karg became carte, esch became ash. I was surprised.

My ancestry is definitely mostly Anglo, but for the longest time while growing up, I had only heard about the German portion of it
