      “Degen, Karl Degen” Retweeted Uriah

A fascinating line of thought in this thread by @crimkadid My pet theory is that the explosion in autism can be linked to the shift to ultra-processed food and, especially, to a high sugar diet. This configures the brain in a different way. @gcochran99 @Mangan150 @Steve_Sailerhttps://twitter.com/crimkadid/status/1312567390148931587 …

I might start repeating something like this as a mantra: the most important thing in the world no one knows is that children born after the onset of autism epidemic are mentally and (the focus of these tweets) physically fucked up.

Its just another wrong pet theory by a smart guy. In almost every single sport, GOAT athletes are millenials.

Are there any sports where performance has objectively gotten worse? US had three high schoolers break 4 minute mile in 1960s, then none for about 3 decades. Otherwise ... pitchers throw harder, golfers' tee shots go further, NFL placekickers got so accurate they changed rules.

I am going to argue later that they are overall physically superior, that millennials add muscle easily for the same reason they add fat. The same factors that stunt height stunt muscle too, which you can see in athletes from the black and white era

In other words, there are ups and downs. Young athletes are more like Zion Williamson and less like Larry Bird

But NBA players are better 3 point shooters now than in the Larry Bird era.

I don't mean shooting: Bird only averaged 1.9 3 point attempts a game anyway. I mean his overall perfectly coordinated movement: his hands, his feet, even his eyes. I used to think athletic vision was mental until I saw the way Bird's eyes movedhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5L-uuBqFic&t=42s …
