I once went through IMDB’s top 250 movies and tried to find which ones showed the strongest gender skew in the ratings: the girliest well known American film was Gone With The Wind/ the manliest Terminator 2. Kurosawa movies though showed the biggest overall male bias.

My guess: biggest gender gap for movies would be for dramas built around 40-something actresses. My dad suffered immensely when my mom would drag him to Bette Davis movies. In contrast, everybody liked, say, "Clueless" because the young actress was adorable and it was funny.
