The funniest thing about German to me is that the word for battle (schlact) is basically the same as their word for slaughter: in German the word for a butcher is schlacter.
My lectures on the German language would be easier to give if there weren't all these Germans around.

I (a German) already expected someone else to have corrected you while reading the tweet. There’s no way Germans would let anyone get away with a mistake when we know better
