Probably the only immigrant groups that had more people on confederate than union side were Jews, Croats and Serbs. There were few Slavonic regiments mainly made from New Orleans Dalmatians.

A Civil War regiment is 1,000 men and there were only about 3,000 Croatians total in the whole South, so that's a bit of an exaggeration. There were two "Slavonian" companies in what was called the European Brigade of New Orleans.
