Trying my hand at blogging: "The Hereditarian Hypothesis and Scientific Racism" https://kevinabird.github.io/2019/12/18/The-Genetic-Hypothesis-and-Scientific-Racism.html …

Suppose there had never been a gap in IQ scores between racial groups. Do you think these “scientific racists” would be promulgating their views in this alternative scenario?

So how do you explain the fact that the scientific racists believe East Asians have higher IQs than Europeans? You have to admit it’s a weird coincidence that their bigotry correlates perfectly with psychometric evidence?

You know, it's curious to attack this talk because it was presented by a Japanese colleague (Kura). There was also a talk on Chinese intelligence in 2018, presented by a Chinese colleague. It's obvious Asians are lacking in some non intelligence trait.

I think the recent research indicating a lower genetic burden of schizophrenia genes in Europeans might be a good clue: selection against schiz at higher latitudes may be responsible for a distinctive, "anti-schiz" personality type.

In fact, as a Scando-American myself, I think this quality (boringness, patience, sanity) is maximized in Scandinavians, who who have a longer history of high latitude agriculture than anyone on earth.

I believe there are average diffs in inborn personality traits between groups but they are hard to disentangle from culture.
