The kurds lost their homeland in Syria which they fought for with US forces in the battle agaist Isis, losing 11 thousand of their men and women. Tonight they were sold out by Trump who says he saved millions of lives. It will be remembered by the kurds as the greatest betrayal.

Once upon a time we lavished an extraordinary amount of money and equipment on an ally that sacrificed more blood in our cause than anyone else, ever, and yet weirdly after World War II no one felt we had a sacred obligation to assist the Soviet Union from now on.

The Soviets had to fight, because they were being attacked by Hitler. it was as much their cause as ours; they didn’t fight on our behalf. I wouldn’t call them allies or even friends. Afterward, they wanted as much as they could take (and still do.) We owe them nothing.

That's the point. The Kurds didn't go looking for a fight either, it was resist ISIS or die. We also owe them nothing.

They put boots on the ground, so the US didn't have to. They fought with the US against ISIS and others in different theaters over a decade. And when they needed the US to help them against an aggressive state. One man decided against all other calls, to let them get slaughtered.

Defending your own territory doesn't count as "putting boots on the ground", as if Kurdistan is a million miles from Raqqa. They're not Canada or Australia volunteering to go across the Atlantic and help Britain in the World Wars. They're a badger defending its' den.

This isn't complicated. We made a promise. We broke it on a whim with no time for our sworn allies to prepare. Our word now means nothing and we are totally without honor bc this President does not see intrinsic worth in the lives of people who don't exist to boost him personally

Who the hell is "we"? Who is entitled to make a permanent, informal promise that will transcend all future administrations and possibilities? We gave these people hundreds of million of dollars in equipment, blasted their enemies to smithereens, and we owe THEM? No.

You should have guessed that the moment you saw someone on Twitter that opposed the viewpoint of the military industrial complex. It's obvious that I'm a highly, highly Russian secret agent from Minnesota.
