It’d be life changing for thousands of people with rare diseases if #AI could dramatically reduce the time to correct diagnosis. Currently, they suffer morbidity and mortality simply because what ails them is unknown for so long.

A curious mind wants to know. What does Hinton mean by "directed" or "undirected" models?

To way over simplify: directed means you have training data, and mostly know what you want the AI to do. eg teaching an AI to ID different breeds of dogs by giving it pictures and breeds to train on. Undirected is having the AI find patterns you didn't know about in the data
