“Ditching”—as if our hearts have an obligation to the men of our race, and not who we connect with. I love Issa Rae but this kind of talk always makes me rage. We
don’t
owe
our
hearts/bodies/lives
to
anyone.

Once again: Asian women owe Asian men (or anyone) nothing.

as a criticism of a cultural representation trend, it's fine. if it hectored actual real-life brown men for their dating choices, it would more of the same attempts at sexual control disguised as wokeness.

Nah, but we criticize cultural representation too. WMAF far outnumbers AMWF. But if us as men call it out we’re wife beating sexists?

that dude wasn't criticising cultural representation lol he was yelling at a real person, and also irl asian women in general, for their dating choices

call it out in movies and tv shows, sure. yelling at an actual woman like "why won't you fuck me instead of them?!" is a lot different, and very obviously misogynistic, entitled, and controlling

trying to establish a faux-progressive basis for the same incel rage expressed in more honest terms by dudes all over the internet is a good bit, but it doesn't actually fool people, especially cuz you personally got called misogynistic, not "asian american men"
