        Debated this years ago with some friends- which was harder? DiMaggio could hit .250 and have the hit streak. Hitting .400 for an entire season was the much harder accomplishment.

        Also sac flies were counted as outs back then so in today’s game he actually hit closer to .413 for the year

        Yankees also won the AL by 17 games. Not hugely unjust for best player on best team to win mvp. But imagine 2-5 being a bad day at the plate. Yikes.
