So I chucked a contract I reviewed earlier into ChatGPT and asked it the same questions I had when reviewing. The thing spat out the correct answers every time. This tool is incredible.

Biggest change in 2022 was to only hire people who 1) align with the values of Pixie, 2) are demonstrably smart, 3) get things done at the speed I want the company to move. If these 3 boxes don’t tick, I have to wish them well at another company.

some guy decided to ignore flight attendants instructions to stay seated & stomped his way all the way to the airplane cockpit. wanted to be 1st out of the airplane. got a welcome back party of no-nonsense people with guns and lost all aggressiveness. ruined to save 2 minutes.

When I was in university it was brutally drilled into my head the need to check boundary conditions to prevent bugs. That was a plus in my book, every time I write code I’m always thinking how it breaks.
I have a new one that teachers need to drill to students:
Use boring tech

While casting shade on for what he’s done, is doing, or will do, try to pause & remember that he made electric cars a normal thing in society and he commercialized space — for cargo, satellites, & people.
Count him among those who are inventing civilization’s future.

Nowadays companies use a lot of cloud services. Buy instead of build. But it creates a problem of monitoring all your dependencies.
IsDown.app consolidates all the status pages from all your cloud services. Easily monitor with custom alerts on outages.
