A while ago my parents' cat Bridget went missing for quite a long time. During her absence my dad - who is particularly fond of Bridget - tried to take his mind off the worry by painting, and imagining Bridget as a time traveller, popping up in various historical scenes.

Painting by my dad from the 1990s of our elderly neighbour, Dorothy, walking her dog Tina and her cat Bill, in Notts. Tina used to pop over to our house every day, ask for a biscuit, eat it, then leave. Bill was 105 years-old and once very gently caught a mouse and purred at it.
