i will never stop being baffled that people who condemn violent video games don't seem to care overmuch about, say, other organized sports

the stereotype about gamers being violent was always foregrounded by similar stereotypes about jocks being violent / bullies / etc

and what about competitive beauty pageants? no, don't laugh, because the fact that you're laughing at that is part of the problem

i don't understand why people talk about all these other things when what they actually want to discuss is the concept of competition itself

@samusclone you are 100% right; games are the most efficient medium at exploiting core competitive psych tendencies that result in violence
