I think so. On my previous project Homefront, the great @covernode made a valiant attempt to add lore stashes detailing the history of the game world via newspapers. Not everything needs an audio log.
The people that care about lore really, really appreciate it - and players who don't, they know it's there and still are happy it's there. I've seen that firsthand at Bethesda. It's also the kind of thing that you can add quickly at very low cost late in the game.
That’s true. My interest falls somewhere in the middle. There are days in Fallout when I’m hacking all the terminals, and other days can’t be bothered. The option is always appreciated though.
